Hi I’m Josh! I love Esoteric Buddhism. I also know from personal experience that it can be an overwhelming and confusing world to explore. Here you’ll find the building blocks that create an on ramp for your own practice and experience. If you know or grew up in an Asian culture, you may already have some of this knowledge. If not, you’ll be learning some new ideas and points of view.

I learned about this fantastic beast while living in Japan for 11 years. Growing up Christian in the US and experiencing yoga, meditation, Hindu-based paths and gurus and many other things along the way landed me at the doorstep of Shinnyo-en. It’s the third school of Japanese Esoteric Buddhism after Shingon and Tendai, and my main path of practice.
